"The Mobile Web refers to access to the world wide web, i.e. the use of browser-based Internet services, from a handheld mobile device, such as a smartphone, a feature phone or a tablet computer, connected to a mobile network or other wireless network." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Web)
Some stats to think about:
Mobile internet usage is projected to overtake desktop internet usage by 2014.
46% of consumers are unlikely to return to a mobile site if it didn't work properly during their last visit.
74% of consumers will wait 5 seconds for a web page to load on their mobile device before abandoning the site.
71% of mobile browsers expect web pages to load almost as quickly or faster as web pages on their desktop computers.
7.96% of all web traffic in the U.S. is mobile traffic.
50% of all local searches are performed on mobile devices.
1 in 5 smartphone users scan product barcodes, and nearly 1 in 8 compare prices on their phone while in a store.
91% of mobile internet access is for social activities, versus just 79% on desktops.
Over 1/3 of Facebook's users access Facebook Mobile; 50% of Twitter's users use Twitter Mobile.
QR code scans increased 300% in 2011 compared to 2010.
Your business needs to have a mobile friendly site in order to survive in the coming years.
That's where we come in. We can take your existing site and convert it to be mobile friendly (in most cases).
Or we can design a custom site from the ground up that will respond to the mobile web. This would include images, text and photo galleries.
"We began working with Bright Hope Designs in late fall of 2012. We had been using a template website that did not shine, and allowed limited flexibility. We wanted to showcase our passion for veterinary medicine, and have a website that was fun, interesting and informational for our clients. I knew this would be an enjoyable, but time consuming project, and I was excited and scared to begin the process. Luckily I called Debi at Bright Hope Designs. She came here to our veterinary hospital so she could get an idea of who we are and what we do. We sat down for about two hours and talked about what I was looking for in a website, what my expectations were, and what options were available to me. We discussed colors, layouts, and pages. The next day I received an estimate and a contract. This was going to be easier than I realized! Debi had outlined the whole job in the timeframe of weeks, making it easy for me to know what was going to happen and when. It was also very clear what was going to be needed from me for each stage of the project.
Debi came up with a fabulous design! She did an excellent job of building on our existing brand by coordinating the website colors and design to compliment our logo. She made suggestions where appropriate, and happily accommodated any changes or additions I requested. Working with Bright Hope Designs was, and continues to be a great experience. Now that the website is complete, Debi remains to be an invaluable source of help to me as we continue to update the content and add pictures to our website. It is thanks to Debi's creativity that we have a website we now love and are very proud of....Thank you, Bright Hope Designs!"
